About

Meet Jamie

Jamie Villalon Thieroff, the owner of K-904, LLC, is a savvy dog trainer that received her certification from the Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA) in 2019, the industry’s highest standard. CPDT-KA requires continuing education to maintain certification that keeps trainers up to date on the latest science-based training techniques and education.

Along with her love of canines and canine behavior, she is also a highly skilled trainer and a proficient teacher of her craft. She holds numerous memberships within the profession (PPG, APDT, IAABC) and is a voice for dog advocacy and ethical training. She is also pet CPR certified and insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas, providing her clients peace of mind while training their four-legged family members.

Letter From Jamie

As dog guardians, we are in charge of their welfare, food, water, safety, health, and training. Studies have shown that early socialization and training keep dogs in homes. 96% of dogs that enter animal shelters have not received obedience training; of those dogs, 47% are between the age of 5 months and 3 yrs of age.

My goal as a canine trainer and advocate is to foster positive relationships between dog and owner to form lifelong bonds. Through manners, socialization, enrichment activities, and some human education, undesired behaviors can be prevented.

Unfortunately, the dog training industry is not regulated. This allows many trainers to use out-of-date methods and tools. Finding a qualified trainer is one of the biggest decisions. For more on this, please view
this article from the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.

Through my years of experience, I know two things are for certain. Training should always be fun, and puppy problems are preventable. Whether you purchased your puppy from a breeder or adopted them from a rescue, all puppies have the same development period. This critical period of development is the tiny window up to 16 weeks of age. You have until this time to maximize optimal emotional and social growth. Dogs will never learn as quickly as they do during this period. Allow me to guide you through this crucial period.
